Hosting Kaffelogic Japan in New Zealand: A Visit to Remember
Recently, the Kaffelogic team had the pleasure of hosting Tomoki Sakurai from Kaffelogic Japan, who travelled all the way from Tokyo to spend time with us here in New Zealand. It was a short but incredibly valuable visit—blending a taste of our country’s natural beauty with hands-on collaboration and knowledge sharing across the business.
A Warm Welcome in Christchurch
Tomoki’s journey began in Christchurch, where he was welcomed by the local Kaffelogic team—John, Nicola, Dean, and Rob. We also had Juliana from the Christchurch NZTE office who has been a critical part in connecting Kaffelogic to Japan.
As one of our key operational hubs, Christchurch provided the perfect setting to connect in person, align on strategy, and share insights into the growing Japanese market.
Beyond the meetings, it was also an opportunity to showcase the relaxed charm and hospitality of the South Island—something that always leaves a lasting impression on our international partners.
A Quick Adventure in Queenstown
From Christchurch, the team made a quick trip to Queenstown, often referred to as the adventure capital of the world. Although the stay was brief—just overnight—it certainly delivered on excitement.
A standout moment was Tomoki and John taking on the iconic Shotover Jet experience. Speeding through narrow canyons at high velocity, complete with 360-degree spins, it was an unforgettable introduction to New Zealand’s adventurous spirit—and perhaps a slightly different pace from the coffee world!
Scenic South Island Journey to Dunedin
After Queenstown, the team embarked on the stunning drive through Central Otago to Dunedin, home of the Kaffelogic factory. This journey is one of New Zealand’s most picturesque, offering wide open landscapes, rolling hills, and dramatic southern scenery—an experience in itself.
Inside Kaffelogic: Factory Tour & Product Deep Dive
Once in Dunedin, it was time to get down to business.
Tomoki spent several days immersed in the inner workings of Kaffelogic, including:
- A full factory tour, showcasing our design, assembly, and quality processes
- In-depth product knowledge sessions
- Hands-on time with Studio software, guided by Steve and Sean
These sessions are a critical part of ensuring our global partners are fully equipped—not just to sell Kaffelogic, but to support customers and represent the brand at the highest level.
A Short but Meaningful Visit
After an intense and rewarding few days, it was back to Christchurch for an early morning departure, with Tomoki heading home to Tokyo.
While the visit was brief, its impact was significant. Strengthening relationships with our distributors and resellers is a core part of how we grow Kaffelogic globally. Face-to-face time like this builds trust, deepens understanding, and ensures alignment across markets.
Looking Ahead
